Port Hedland, Australia – Mining giant BHP has taken a significant step toward enhancing vehicle safety at its Port Hedland operations with the acquisition of the innovative NetBEE ForceBEE Measuring Device. Last week, IMTRAM, the supplier of this award-winning technology, delivered comprehensive training to BHP’s maintenance team to ensure seamless integration of the device into their workflow.
The NET- Automation GmbH ForceBEE, winner of the 2023 ERCI Innovation Award, is a game-changer in brake force measurement. The system includes a trolley equipped with both block and disc brake foils, enabling precise measurements across BHP’s diverse fleet of vehicles. Its thin-film sensors, placed directly between the brake pad and disc or block and wheel, eliminate the need for brake disassembly. These sensors capture accurate, real-time data across the entire brake surface, wirelessly transmitting results to a user-friendly tablet interface.
Training sessions conducted by IMTRAM yielded immediate insights, providing BHP’s team with a clear overview of vehicle braking conditions. This capability allows maintainers to certify adjustments with precision, ensuring optimal reliability and safety for BHP’s operations.
