Passive level crossings remain one of the biggest challenges in railway safety, particularly in rural areas where they exist in large numbers. Wavetrain offers a smart, scalable upgrade that significantly reduces risk without the high cost and complexity of traditional systems.

The Wavetrain Level Crossing Protection is a comprehensive, CENELEC SIL 2 and IEC 61508 certified solution. It uses acoustic sensors mounted directly on the rails to detect the unique sound energy of approaching trains. A nearby Control Unit processes the data and activates warning measures (such as lights and sounders) at the optimal time.

All components are installed at the crossing itself, eliminating extensive cabling and minimising track access requirements.
